Privacy policy

Video Lock is provided by EME Hub ("we"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Contact: support@eme-hub.com.
What we collect
- Account details when you sign in with Google: your email address and Google account ID. We don't receive your Google password or contacts.
- Subscription and payment records: plan, amount, currency, payment status, dates and order references. Card and mobile-money details are entered with our payment processor and never reach us.
- Device sign-ins: a random sign-in token per device and when it was last used, so we can apply your plan's device limit.
- Free-plan usage: how many seconds of locked playback your account used each day, so the free daily allowance works across your devices. We keep it for 7 days.
We do not collect your viewing history, the videos you lock, or anything you watch. The free-plan counter records only the number of seconds, never what was playing.
Why we use it
- To provide your account and Premium features, and enforce device limits (performing our contract with you).
- To process payments and keep financial records (contract and legal obligations).
- To send service emails such as renewal reminders (contract). We don't send marketing emails.
- To prevent fraud and abuse and keep the service secure (legitimate interests).
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We share only what each service provider needs to do its job for us:
- Google, for sign-in.
- Pesapal, our payment processor, for checkout and payment confirmation.
- Our email delivery provider (Brevo), for service emails.
- Our hosting provider, which stores our database.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
These providers may process data outside your country. We rely on their contractual and legal safeguards when they do.
How long we keep it
We keep account data until you delete your account. Payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require, linked to an anonymous ID after account deletion. Backups, kept for 30 days, may still hold your data until they expire. When you delete your account we keep a one-way fingerprint of your Google account ID (never your email) for 35 days, so restoring a backup can't bring your data back and that day's free time isn't reset. Device sign-ins unused for 180 days are removed.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it. To delete your account, use Delete my account on the extension's Premium page, or email support@eme-hub.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority. In Uganda, that's the Personal Data Protection Office.
Children
Accounts are for adults (parents, guardians, teachers). Video Lock is used by adults to limit what a child can do on a video. It is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect children's personal data.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Sign-in tokens are stored only as one-way hashes, and access to our systems is restricted.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. If the changes are significant, we'll also tell you by email.
